IN LOVING MEMORY OF REV. JACK HILTON

AUGUST 10, 1951 - APRIL 2, 2025

Rev. Jack M. Hilton, 73, of Lancaster, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2025 at Neffsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the loving husband for 54 years of the late Melissa Denise (Dunn) Hilton who preceded him in death.

Born in Jonesborough, TN, he was the son of the late Alfred J. and Velma A.(Bethany) Hilton. Jack spent much of his life as a pastor in the Evangelical Methodist Conference. Ordained in 1978, he served as the pastor of Tri-Cities Evangelical Methodist Church in Kingsport, TN from 1978 until 1993. He also spent may years teaching at Cedar View Christian School in Kingsport, TN and working at WHCB 91.5 FM, a local Christian educational broadcast station in the Tri-Cities area of East Tennessee, where he remained a board member for nearly 40 years. In 1993, he relocated to Lancaster, Pa where he served as the pastor of the New Danville Bible Evangelical Methodist Church until his health forced him to retire in 2015.

In his spare time, he enjoyed teaching Bible studies in numerous retirement/ nursing homes, working with youth in Bible camps both in Tennessee and Pennsylvania, organizing an annual youth mission trip to Jamaica, and spending time with his family. His love for God and heart for service were obvious to all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Shane Hilton (husband of Shelley), Misty Chandler (wife of Stephen) and Nevada Hilton (husband of Kristin); eight grandchildren; brothers, Don, Wayne, Terry, and Randy Hilton and a sister, Marie Yonce; his mother, Velma; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Blountville, TN on Monday, April 7, at 5 pm. A viewing will be held from 4pm until the start of the service. Burial will follow the service in the Garden of Solomon
