    IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

    ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Another round of moderate to possibly heavy rain is expected this afternoon and tonight. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches is expected north of I-40 and 1.5 to 2 inches south of I-40. Polk, Cherokee, and Clay counties are expected to see 2 to 3 inches, with isolated higher amounts possible. This additional rainfall will likely result in areas of flooding.

Come out to Fairview Farm & Homestead 908 Hillman Highway Abingdon VA 24210 on May 3, 2024 from 1:00 pm till 4:40 pm and Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9 am till 4:30 pm to see how life was lived during the Civil War. This will be a great opportunity to talk to the soldiers and learn more about the American Civil War. We will have demonstrations on camp life, period firearms, dismounted and mounted cavalry, cannon station, Civil War surgeon, blacksmith, quilting, 1800’s cabin (time period decorated).
