Tri-Cities Weather Blog Forecast: Fall is arriving!

If you’re one of those people who have been wondering when the fall of 2026 is going to arrive, look no further. A cold front drifts through Friday night and drops us from record high temperatures to near freezing for a low on Sunday morning! Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog today…here’s the outlook!

  • Thursday night-Mostly clear skies. Lows near 60.
  • Friday-Sunny early, clouds increasing by afternoon. Gusty winds with a few rain showers. High 82. Friday night features a lot of clouds and better rain chances. Winds will also be gusty. Low 44.
  • Saturday-A couple morning rain showers, then skies clear. Much cooler with a high of 57. Clear skies tomorrow night present the first frost chance of the season, as lows drop to near 32.
  • Sunday-Mostly sunny, highs up to 66.
  • Monday-Sunny skies and highs close to 60.

We had a brief bit of cooler weather recently, but temperatures have warmed back up, with record highs on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Those won’t be an option for a while, though, as a cold front brings in some cold air for the first time this season.

Tomorrow’s rain looks mainly confined to late afternoon and through the evening. A stray thunderstorm isn’t out of the question, which may cause football delays for Friday night. If that happens, it shouldn’t last too long before folks can get back to the action. The cold front actually moves through tomorrow afternoon, but best rain chances will be behind the front tomorrow night.

A few pesky showers are possible Saturday morning, but skies clear in the afternoon. Expect winds to be kicking up and cooler weather as highs only reach the upper 50s. Those clear conditions allow a hard temperature drop Saturday night, with a Sunday morning frost as lows may hit 32.

Temperatures begin to moderate for Sunday into the mid 60s, with overnight lows in the mid 30s. We’ll get back to 70 for a high with a sunny Monday, then we should have dry weather for much of next week. By the end of it, we should be back toward normal with highs in the low to mid 70s next week, and lows in the low to mid 40s.

So…fall is arriving! Just in time for high school and college football to get real interesting…just like we like it!
